Scheduling Furnace Winter Maintenance
Last year we talked about the importance of HVAC and furnace winter maintenance. Well, it’s that time again, especially if you’re already using your furnace to keep things snuggly in your home. The chill of November is literally blowing thru Arizona, and the furnace repair experts at ADD Air Inc. are now booking appointments for maintenance and repair.
Why you need furnace maintenance
Manufacturers of furnaces recommend annual inspections and maintenance by qualified technicians. In addition, the warranties that come with the furnaces all say that improper maintenance that contributes to damage is not covered under their warranty. So, a proper inspection by an expert is not required, but, it’s recommended.
What needs to be done?
Here is a partial list of items that furnace manufacturers recommend be inspected annually by an experienced technician
- Check for blockage or leakage in the vent system.
- Exam the heat exchanger for rust and corrosion.
- Compare the combustion gases to their unit specifications.
- There needs to be a tight seal on the blower access door.
- The fresh air intake grills and louvers need to be inspected for blockage.
We also service all makes and models of HVAC units. You can set up a FREE estimate when ordering a new air conditioning unit. When calling ADD Air, any customer can schedule an estimate on an air conditioning system also. We all want to keep our cool and comfortable during the summer months. It’s true that the cold weather only lasts for a few months, but it’s better to be safe so you can avoid your HVAC breaking down during the winter and spring seasons.
During the winter, you may want to winterize the air conditioning unit to protect it against cold weather, snow and ice. (Yes! we get ice and freezing weather in Mohave County.) Winterizing the unit also protects it from rust damage and keeps your air conditioning unit well maintained. Also, staying on top of maintenance keeps your home investment in top working condition with only a few protective measures.
